Black and white scrimshaw on French ivory billiard ball by a unknown artist. Incredibly detailed in every way, this globe features the Mayan calendar on one side and remarques of a Mayan warrior and face on the the other. The line work on this piece is very intricate and impressive. The area to be scrimshawed on these globes are larger than most people realize. If one were to “peel” the outer surface as one would peel the skin from an orange, the area is always larger than first sensed.
