Noonday Sun Triple Check

“Noonday Sun Triple Check” black and white scrimshaw on ancient walrus tusk ivory by Gerry Dupont. Three officers check the noonday sun onboard a schooner. Not sure if they are having a contest or just trying to impress the crewmen. Either way, it makes for a great scene. This is done on a slab of ancient walrus ivory with just the right amount of scrimshaw area remaining before getting to the core of the tusk. Nice work cutting and sanding this piece. Dupont created this in 2006 and it is from one of our clients who is no longer with us. Nice work all the way around.
