On the Rocks

“On the Rocks” black and white scrimshaw on ancient mammoth tusk ivory bark by Jane Tukarski. Rare piece by Tukarski as most collectors are loath to part with one of her outstanding pieces. This is from the collection on one of our clients who is no longer with us. Her black and white work is simply some of the best done. Great stipple work in the weathered face of the old seaman and the unfortunate ship on the rocks is very well done as well. Beautiful piece of mammoth bark on handsome rosewood stand completes the picture. Rare opportunity to add a first rate Tukarski to one’s collection.
