Ancient walrus tusk raw ivory approximately 500 – 1500 years old. Excavated from ancient hunting camps in the Northern Bering Sea area, this ivory has beautiful color (the result of minerals that have been absorbed into the ivory over hundreds and hundreds of years). Many pieces were used as tools and bear the marks of ancient man. Not a great deal of this rare ivory available today. Can be used for scrimshaw, carving, jewelry, knife handles, etc.
