Antique Scrimshaw “Seayer”

Black and white scrimshaw on antique whales tooth by an scrimshaw unknown artist. Interesting piece done with dots outlining the figure. “Sayer” inscribed on base. Bearded man appears to be standing on a fish. Left hand holds a bucket with objects within and right hand holds another unknown object. Beautiful patina. Tip rounded indicating it was taken from an old sperm whale. Bottom evenly cut, again indicating its age. Weighs 1 lb., 1 oz. Nice piece to research. Could be some type of Christlike figure? From the collection of one of our long time clients who is no longer with us.
