“Elephant Family” color scrimshaw by talented unknown artist on hippo tooth ivory. From the collection of one of our clients who is no longer with us. Very well done piece. Most scrimshanders do not work on hippo ivory as it is too difficult to engrave, due to its extreme hardness. Nice stand with brass cap and pins.
