Carving on mammoth ivory of family of bears by an unknown artist. Stunning color in the mammoth ivory. Often referred to as “chocolate” ivory, the result of minerals absorbed into the ivory since the last Ice Age, this color of mammoth ivory is seldom seen today. Great composition on this one with the cubs in the den below as the adults hunt. Very well done.
