“Proud Loon Family” black and white scrimshaw on very large piece of ancient mammoth tusk ivory by Charles W. Conner. Mr. and Mrs. Loon are proud parents, indeed. One little chick has already hatched and another is close behind as can be seen with the tiny beak protruding through the egg. Absolutely amazing work creating the complex nest by Mr. and Mrs. Loon and Conner has captured the nest perfectly. Large piece of mammoth ivory with the outer bark left intact, creating a perfect frame. This was done in 2009 and is from one of our clients who is no longer with us.
