Schooner at the Dock
$1,250.00
“Schooner at the Dock” black and white scrimshaw on ancient walrus tusk ivory artifact by Steve Williams. Ivory used as a net sinker by natives in the Northern Bering Sea area hundreds of years ago. Rare to see one in such excellent condition. Williams did this for Scrimshaw Gallery in 1988. Study the closeup and you will see the amazing details: ship weathervane on the roof of a. shed, a house on the far right of the net sinker and the perfect reflection of the ship’s prow in the still water. This is from the collection of one of our clients who is no longer with us. Ditto Williams. Rare opportunity to add a first rate Williams to one’s collection at 1988 prices.
