St. George vs Dragon

“St. George vs Dragon” black and white scrimshaw on huge tip of pre-ban African Ivory by David Pudelwitts. Incredible detail on this one from the collection of one of our clients who is no longer with us. Originally, it came without a stand; however, it is such an impressive piece it deserved a first class stand which we had made. The entire piece weighs an impressive 9.0 pounds! Just the value of the ivory  itself is worth the price, not to mention the fantastic scrimshaw. The scrimshander probably created this in the mid 1980s and is no longer creating scrimshaw. This incredible piece would be the center piece of any serious collection.
